Fair Entries and Silent Auction

I entered two quilts in the quilt show this year and donated three Silent Auction items.

My first entry was this twin size quilt. The pattern is called "Lanterns of Hope",  from Hollyanne Knight's site,  A String and a Story. Here is a LINK to her online shop and a LINK to her blog. If you are looking for a fast to sew quilt, this is it. I cut it out and sewed the top together in a weekend. I did the quilting with my Baby Lock Tiara using a variegated thread.

Lanterns of Hope, twin size.

And I entered my Feed the Cat quilt. I went a completely different direction with my fabric choices than what I had originally intended. I am happy with this cheerful little quilt. This one finished at 28" X 18 1/2".

The back, complete with hanging sleeve.

Now for the Silent Auction items. I had leftover blocks from the Rainbow Rail Fence charity quilt I made for the guild, so turned them into a throw size quilt. 54" X 66".

Donated "Quilt With a Happy Heart"

Deltana Fair

Once again it is time for our local fair. I went in on Thursday to help hang quilts. We did not have as many entries as the last few years.

Here we are  getting started, I meant to take photos as we worked but I was just too busy!

I will start with the Grand Prize winner. This quilt was made by our guild's treasurer.

The front.

The back.

Now photos of the rest of the entries. Lots of blue ribbons! I was told, if the quilt earns the points on the score card, they get a blue ribbon.

Each year we have People's Choice Awards for the three favorite quilts. The fair attendees vote for their favorite. I have a feeling this one will win!

Smaller, wall hanging size quilts.

I was told the bottom one, red and blue,, was made by a 5 year old as she sat on her Mom's lap at the sewing machine.

This was our guild's raffle quilt this year.

Next time I will share my entries and the Silent Auction items. Happy Quilting, Rebecca

Kaffee Fassett BOM and I found a Squirrel!!

Another blog post but it will be short and sweet! It is hard to believe, but I am actually keeping up with the Kaffe Fassett Mystery BOM! I completed the 16, 16-patch blocks. There are a total of 36 snowball blocks. Month 5's set will come in towards the end of the month.

And I picked up a Squirrel along the way!

Bonnie Hunter announced her Leader/Ender Challenge for this year, you can read about HERE. But I just wasn't feeling the love for this years Challenge. Then I read Julie's blog posts, HERE and HERE.  The Scrap Vortex quilt has been on my radar for awhile now and it will make an excellent leader/ender project. So I joined the Squirrel Club! I got a few scraps matched up as I sewed the BOM blocks.
